Summary/Abstract: This paper was inspired by the US presidential election, especially by the gap created after the vote itself, between the principles of a Constitution considered a paradigm of democracy, over 200 years old, and violent attacks on the principles and symbols of American democracy. I tried to set the perspectives of the American society after the violence at the Capitol, which highlighted the fractures within it, how the US will look in the Biden era, and of the international relations in this presidential term. I aimed to put on the page excerpts from the American and international press, with the most relevant analyses from political scientists, analysts, and journalists with experience in American society and the political system.
