Summary/Abstract: Metaphor in Scientific Discovery The purpose of this paper is to analyze the metaphor in language for special purposes, a recent filed of investigation. In this perspective, the terminological metaphor would be a guarantor of scientific truth in the scientific terminology and no longer the exclusive preserve of writers. It would affect everyone in all businesses. However, we can ask whether the connotative employment is not incompatible with the interests of accuracy of science? Far from being a confounding factor that blurs the clarity of scientific discourse, the metaphor is a hinge of understanding because it allows collect the object with familiarity and evidence. Moreover, the metaphor appears in this context, not as an epistemological obstacle but as a heuristic tool. Indeed, we see the association of ideas the key that triggers the discovery and leads us on a field of scientific germination. We find the metaphor, as a cognitive tool, a component of our cognition, our experience of the world and not just a simple way of speaking.
