Summary/Abstract: Parliamentary elections and a strong Russian populace are the key unknowns for this young EU and NATO member. „Though it’s a little early to speculate on the outcome of the Nov. 7th 2006 parliamentary elections in Latvia, it’s a good time to reflect on the present state of affairs and the similarities and dissimilarities that come with this election year as compared with 2002.
