An ethnolinguistic view on a semantic field: ie. *(s)ken- ‘appear in large quantities; begin’(and on animals’ offspring and on children)

Summary/Abstract: In this paper I give linguistic and ethnographic evidence for the activity of a semantic and conceptual field in some dialectal Slavic words, either having preserved archaic semantic features or by metaphorization remove their semantic restriction and restore their original polysemy.
