Aspects from the activity and achievements of G. D. Vasiliu in the field of vertebrate study

Summary/Abstract: A complex and comprehensive personality, G. D. VASILIU conducted research in several fields related to animal biology, including ichthyology (as one of his first and favorite research directions), and extending his competent activity to the other classes of vertebrates, particularly mammals and birds. A brief overview of the contribution of George D. Vasiliu in the study and knowledge of vertebrates in general, and in particular in Romania, with the accent on the applicative side. Also, is presented the practice part, as organizer of new institutions and as promoter of the development of appropriate legislation relating to hunting and protection of the Animal World.
