Summary/Abstract: Gheorghe Sion’s name remained now more like an echo of a long-gone world, which is still felt in nowadays through a few places and things that consecrated his memory: the hall that bears his name in the Central University Library from Cluj, with its generous collection of books, coins, prints and maps and through some pieces furniture, which adorned the generous salon of the Orthodox Cluj Diocese, but also through a remarkable collection of museum pieces donated to the Diocese. However, the memory of Gheorghe Sion remains alive by the fact that he genuinely embodied the conscience and discretion of the philanthropist, which is in strong connection with that of the medieval founder, who knows how to do well with only desire to open new horizons and perspectives for a world that is still germinating and not for his own glory. Through all his acts of patronage that this magistrate has done to the city of Cluj, underline that the capital of Transylvania was the most dynamic and attractive place in the interwar Romania.
