Summary/Abstract: The art department at ZUŠ (elementary art school), especially at the first level of school, has a significance in pupils' personal development, as well as the development of their creativity, emotionalization and critical thinking. All these areas are developed not only by the creation but by the content of the hours and the influence of the teacher. The teacher should make the most of the potential the length and content of such lessons offer. The personality of the teacher is particularly important, his communication skills and the socio-psychological skills.
