Summary/Abstract: The article presents a very general overview of the Idylls of the prose writer and dramatist Petko Y. Todorov, viewing these works as a literary bridge to his dramas. By their themes, motifs, problems and functions relations, these primarily short tales served as material out of which he would subsequently build the plots of his dramas. In terms of a still living legacy, the dramas of Todorov are the most remarkable part of his literary work. A topic of continuing interest today is the specific dramatic quality of these plays. In terms of mood and project, this quality is also present in the Idylls. That is the reason why we start from them, from their style, ideas, cosmology (even though they were written in parallel with his plays). In examining them, we will encounter ideas borrowed from Nietzsche and even from Buddha.
