Approaches to Creating a Contemporary TV Series: Interactivity and Branching Narrative

Summary/Abstract: The paper is focused on the trends approach to creating modern television series and the approaches in communication between them and the audience. It describes different models to impose a type of interactivity in the communication between the viewer and the TV product mediated by digital technologies. The audience has a possibility, created by the Internet and online streaming platforms to watch the desired product anytime and anywhere. This change requires a different approach in creating a television series that can offer more active participation of the viewer. The interactive screen of mobile phones and computer devices and the use of a branching structure (branching narrative) in the development of the plot are also important to the transformations on focus in this paper.
