Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the basic models of contact improvisation, some conditional style divisions based on the perception of different approach-es to improvisation and how they influence modern choreographic solutions. Contact improvisation will be analysed as a consistently constructed system of movements based on the communication between two (or more) moving bodies in direct physical contact. When the body perceives basic sensations such as momentum, impulse, gravity, it learns to relieve excess muscle tension and lets itself to go with the natural flow of movement and cultivated exercises such as motility, falling, body position reversal, physical contact point, maintenance and mutual transmission of the weight of the partner, which will be analyzed in detail in the text and in the context of how they influence the modern choreography.
