Summary/Abstract: Petri Nets are powerful grapho-analytical and mathematical tools that can be widely used in the fields of modelling, analysis and synthesis of various systems. This paper presents us with the definition itself and their basic properties. These are possible to use in the simulation of manufacturing systems and processes. Specific examples above serve as the illustration.
