Summary/Abstract: Sport has always been a significant part of social reality and an important form of social activity. Today, the complicated system of social connections relating to sport has necessitated the separation of sports law as an independent branch of law having its own specific structure. This branch should also include the criminal law remedies for sports protection. The creation of a legal framework regarding crimes against sport is a necessary stage in the improvement of the regulation of this category of social relationships, this stage being conditioned by their great importance. It is through the methods of criminal law that the overall development of sport can be effectively encouraged, ensuring the adherence to its principles – equity, sportsmanship, transparent management and funding, fair play, etc.
