EDITORS’ FOREWORD TO THE ISSUE REMAKING THE SOCIAL. NEW RISKS AND SOLIDARITIES

Summary/Abstract: The current issue of Studia Sociologia was occasioned by the First International Conference of the Society of Sociologists from Romania, hosted by the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, Babeş-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca, between 2-4 December, 2010: Remaking the Social. New Risks and Solidarities. The conference brought together scholars from various domains of sociology, sharing an interest in the changes of the Romanian social context. The articles of this issue reflect the broad range of research topics and methodological approaches present at the conference, and illustrate the ways in which sociologists may conceptualize current social concerns and inform responsible knowledge.
