Summary/Abstract: Declaring the truth as the main point of poetry for the authors of the protest canon of the new music in Bulgaria (L. Nikolov, K. Iliev) was part of their official outlooks. The interpretation of secret facts, unspoken truths—and difficult to share mechanisms of the political reality—is part of their autobiographical writing. The official opinion of the rebel authors articulate their understanding of art as a poetics of truth and their opposition to ideological canons. On the other hand, secret, apocryphal evidence of the mechanisms of power was set down in the intimate, autobiographical writings of Lazar Nikolov. Their autobiographical works recorded their point of view as evidencing of the events of 1968.
