Summary/Abstract: Although Teresa Bałuk’s translations of Norwid’s poems are beautiful, smooth and easy to read, they do not render the most important feature of the originals: their complex sense. The translator deliberately chose only one from various possible interpretations of the translated texts and thus simplified them. The author of the article also shows some inconsistencies in Teresa Bałuk’s selection of translation strategies.
