Summary/Abstract: The following text examines different perspectives on the entirely online format of university education and tuition which began in Bulgaria in March 2020 due to the worldwide COVID-19 crisis and became standardized in the months thereafter. I have interviewed lecturers and students from the department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Philosophy in the University of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski”. From each of the three chairs of the department two lecturers took part in the following study. On the other side, the four bachelor students who agreed to participate have been active in the entire process of online tuition in the last two semesters. Each of the participants has filled a questionary in which some of the questions coincide – for example, both lecturers and students are asked about how they assess online tuition and how they envision the process of gradual digitalization of education and tuition. However, the lecturers were also asked about their perspective on their work and its efficiency in an online environment, and the students were questioned about their motivation and how this transition to an online environment affected the way they acquire information. In the present text, I try to objectively present the main position of each and every participant. Then, I explore and reconstruct in a larger scale the main problems and tendencies which have been already accentuated by the participants. Thus, I also point out not only different tendencies, but also different overlapping and conflicting insights and perspectives which could help us understand and evaluate the current situation within which Bulgarian universityeducation and tuition are embedded. Thereby, the aim of the present text is to provoke a dialogue in regard to the future of the university as such and of academic philosophy as such in the context of the indispensable expansion and application of digital technology in the sphere of education that occurred during the crisis caused by COVID-19. Such a dialogue would, nevertheless, exceed the boundaries of the present text.
