Summary/Abstract: The text analyses how the choice of the social models, behavioral patterns, slangs and manners influences the constructing of stage persona on the example of the performance Chamkoria based on the novel by Milen Ruskov in the stage version of Javor Gardev (premiere in 2017 in “Theatre 199”, Sofia). The acting of Zachari Baharov is taken as a case study for demonstration how the actor builds anthropomorphic figures that can be recognized in the social reality. His personage Bae Slave starting from a colorful social stereotype and having reached a dramatic character, grows into an archetype of the man who is the child of the time between the two world wars, but also of something much larger: the hybrid between primitive and modern consciousness. His prototype is the semi-urban and the semi-nomadic man, in general – the person who is always between established positions and unsecured situations and who is constantly on the edge of survival – an archetypal figure for the entire Balkan culture but also for other cross-roads of cultures.
