Summary/Abstract: In my paper, I present the results of the empirical research I conducted between October and December 2018. The research focused on the relationship of young Hungarian high school and university students in Slovakia to the Slovak language. In my study I outline the basic features of Slovak–Hungarian relations, then I describe the nature of the sociolinguistic research method called matched-guise technique, and finally I summarize the results of the questionnaire and agent-method surveys.
