Summary/Abstract: The current scientific studies address issues related to the construction of the so-called smart structure in universities, the main components of which are IT infrastructure and intelligent engineering systems. The features and advantages of IoT architecture and the positive impact of the Internet of things in the educational process are emphasized. As an example of using IoT, we consider the created laboratory training complex for the production of renewable energy using photovoltaic plants at the BSU. To determine the efficiency of the plants, a special device based on the ARDUINO development environment was designed to evaluate the degree of contamination of the glass surface of the photovoltaic panels. A system for measuring the temperature of the panels and storing the measured values for a long period of time on the server of the specially built meteorological station of the BSU is implemented. An algorithm for visualization of the data from the weather station, as well as for the visualization of the saved harmful emissions was created. A methodology for thermal imaging diagnostics of photovoltaic panels has been developed. The advantages of the created complex for monitoring of the photovoltaic training system in carrying out a modern educational process for the preparation of specialists with engineering education in the field of renewable energy are highlighted.
