Summary/Abstract: The article the phenomenon of onymic fashion connected with a commercial attempt exploit characteristics and properties of Upper Silesian dialect lexemes as components of functional names promoting the subregion was described. Considering the complex polysystem of persuasive conditions, the names were described from the perspective of cultural linguistics, socjolinguistics and pragmalinguistics.
