Travels on the pages of Musical Semi-monthly: the News from the Musical World and Musical Chronicle sections

Summary/Abstract: The paper reviews different aspects of the travel topic in the context of Bulgarian music from the beginning of the XX century – as a real physical remoteness, as a metaphor of inner creative change, as a rediscovering of the local and as a virtual transfer. The „News from the Musical world” and “Musical Chronicle” sections on the pages of “Musical newspaper” offer a journey through the colourful kaleidoscope of musical world news – outward towards the established European musical practice and inward towards the boiling new Bulgarian musical culture. The two sections allow outlining characteristics specific to Bulgarian music.
