Summary/Abstract: Directors of portrait documentaries often borrow from feature films the artistic device of taking the character back in time, mixing the present and the past to study, show and explain certain feelings, deeds and evaluations of the protagonist. There are many portrait documentaries, where, apart from a journey back in time, characters go on a real journey, which brings unadulterated emotions in the story. These journeys help to delve deeper into the protagonist’s intimate and emotional world.
