Summary/Abstract: The proposed paper focuses on two key titles from Stephan Komandarev’s filmography: The World is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner (2008) and The Judgement (2014), where, the acts and allegory of Journey are of crucial importance to the development of the plot and the film production. The travelling revealing the personages, their choices, predetermines the fates of the fictional characters. The text analyses and compares the two titles, presenting the thesis of centripetal and centrifugal directorial methodology and their narrative structure. Those Komandarev’s film are the striking part of the qualitative achievements of contemporary post-totalitarian Bulgarian cinema. Through his fictional Travelogue, the director discusses ambiguous stories from the recent past and actual and painful current issues of the present.
