Summary/Abstract: In the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, the issue of administering of office work and handling of official documents from the initial evidencing to their final processing is defined by the Law on Office Work Administration, no. 04/L-184, regulations and other by laws to be implemented by all public institutions and enterprises. Therefore, this paper addresses the issue of administering of official documents as an subsidiary activity that assists the bodies in performing basic official duties in a fair and efficient manner from the receipt of documents to the archiving after the completion of cases. The law in question regulates the administering of office work and official documents from their creation, registration to their final processing, through the Unit of Office Administration, for all institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and public enterprises. A document administration unit is an organizational unit where the official document administration works are performed, from receiving the mail, opening, checking the mail, evidencing, merging and stamping the case files, managing the working deadlines, sending the cases for proceeding, mailing, delivery etc.
