Summary/Abstract: Personal Data Protection is an important segment of society. Given this fact, the paper is focused on the protection of personal data in the archives service. Since February 2019, the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo has adopted the Law 06/L-082 on Personal Data Protection. The purpose of this paper is to provide basic information to archivists regarding the specific challenges for the application of the Law No. 06/L-082 on Personal Data Protection, respectively the General Regulation on Data Protection (GDPR) in the archive service. The paper in question is addressed to archival institutions that hold archival documents selected for permanent retention.
