Summary/Abstract: In my address, I intend to make use of my experience within the Master of Conference Interpretation (MIC) in La Laguna University, Spain, where I have been a French language instructor since the beginning of the MIC in 1989. In particular, I would like to emphasize the importance of designing good speeches and their role in ensuring optimal learning for our students. As an essential and indispensable tool in the pedagogy of our Master, that is essentially practical, the “discours” becomes a basic daily instrument, although often trivialized, understated, or at least frequently misapprehended. So the question I’ll try to answer is, what is a good speech for future conference interpreters? What can you teach with a good speech? How can you make a good speech?
