Summary/Abstract: The hoard lot contain 39 “Thasian type” tetradrachms and 6 imitations. Because ofthe correspondence between dies we suppose that 4 of those imitations were being struckin the same minting place. In the case of imitations we have many writing errors, lettersthat were poorly copied after the “Thasian type” tetradrachms issued under the romancontrol. In majority of cases the monogram is of type 6, after Prokopov typology.Despite the fact that the discovery place is unknown, it is possible that this group ofcoins to be part of the Cașolț hoard found in 1777. We think that the hiding moment ofthis monetary deposit can be related with the one of Șieu-Odorhei hoard placed around60 B.C. This low dating in concordance with the semnificative presence of imitations inthe hoard. It’s very possible that a hoard horizon to be created in the connection withthe expansion of Burebista’s power.
