Summary/Abstract: This text is indirectly an introduction to the problems related to the development of “new museology” and an attempt to outline its main trends. The basis of the reflections proposed is a case study on the exhibition “Tu Muranów” [Muranów Here] at the Polin Museum in Warsaw. Discussing selected parts of this exhibition Grochowski reconstructs the general cognitive assumptions that guided its curators and comments on the ways in which the exhibits are displayed. This allows him to formulate their possible cognitive, aesthetic and ideological implications.
