Summary/Abstract: Arnold-Lucien Montandon (1852–1922) was born in Besançon, France. He came to Romania in 1873 and died here in 1922 at Cernavodă. Selfmade man of very high school, he was specialist in Heteroptera. He described 544 taxa from different families, collected from many different areas. He was also interested in other groups of insects, Orthoptera, Coleoptera, Pseudoscorpions, Malacology. He left great collections at the „Grigore Antipa” Museum of Natural History where he worked between 1896 to 1907. A part of type collections are deposited in Paris, Brussells, Washington, Budapest, Genova, Geneve and Milano.
