Summary/Abstract: This article presents a possible forecast of potential transformations of Russian energy policy resulting from the role determined by the Economic Security Strategy. Comparing its content with documents and projects of sectoral economic strategies, it is possible to hypothesise that the fuel and energy sector will remain one of the most important sectors of the Russian economy. Therefore, the goal of the energy policy will be a targeted dominance of supplies of processed products and shaping of development processes in targeted state regions. It should be assumed that the achievement of such defined strategic goals will require not only a profound technological transformation, but also the provision of appropriate production capacities that will ensure the formation of global gas prices and access to new sales markets. Moreover, the decisive factors for the success of this concept are a proper shaping of interactions with China, i.e. the largest importer and co-investor, and an "energy linkage" of new recipients. This assumption changes both the scope of Russian energy policy and the concept of international impact.
