The History of Science in human destinies. The Human Soul - a living citadel of freedom

Summary/Abstract: The article presents highlights from the lives of two twin scientists born in the Republic of Moldova: Gleb Drăgan and Boris Draganov. The book Exerciţii de memorie. 0 paranteză tristă a istoriei (Memory exercises. A sad parenthesis to history), authored by Gleb Drăgan, serves as a starting point for the presentation of the family’s history, intertwined with the history of the Republic their were born in: occupation by USSR, deportation, forced labour. Despite hardships, the twins suceed in attaining their dream of becoming engineers and their career culminates with positions in the Romanian Academy of Sciences for Gleb Drăgan and in the Higher School Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for Boris Draganov.
