Summary/Abstract: Nasiłowska discusses the place of narratives about illness and disability in contemporary literature, highlighting the heterogeneity of the category that groups long interviews with celebrities along with blogs by survivors of an illness as well as various types of autobiographical accounts. She highlights Sławomir Mrożek’s autobiography Baltazar [Balthazar] as well as Izabela Morska’s Znikanie [Disappearing] – works linked by the intriguing motif of the subject’s identity undergoing a transformation over the course of the therapy.
