Summary/Abstract: The article offers an ecocritical reading of Michał Książek’s nature writing. It concentrates primarily on the creative dendrophilous attachment and discusses trees as Książek’s representative visions of nature. The author of the article considers such concepts as the site of illumination, timber (also in its molecular sense), landmark, symbol, locator – cosmic tree, autonomous tree, storage medium, necrobiont – biocentric tree, forest as a holobiont – family (multispecies family), biotic foundation and condition of life. The article also demonstrates Książek’s evolving interest from environmental humanities and nature writing towards the literary politics of nature.
