Summary/Abstract: The aim of the present study is to propose an experimental model of creative techniques to assist children in the process of dealing with their anxiety. The article examines an important aspect of human emotionality, namely anxiety. In particular, it addresses the problem in children and offers a means to help overcome it. Anxiety plays an important role in children's inner balance, reactions and behavior. Frequent manifestations of fears and anxiety lead to low self-esteem in anxious children. Emotions and feelings have a particularly significant place in the personality of children. The more emotions we have experienced, whether we define them as positive or not, the richer emotional resources we have. The use of emotional experience is one of the ways in which people become successful individuals. However, it happens that a person suppresses the feelings he feels or tries to control them. We learn to suppress our emotions in childhood, from the so-called rules for expressing emotions. Children learn them from the people who care for them. This suppression of feelings has a negative effect on the way we react and work out our negative emotions. For this reason, it is necessary to create and implement ways to support the awareness and development of emotions in children. One such method is art therapy. At the beginning of creativity is the experience. What underlies the application of creative means is not the work itself, but the process. Free associations, the change of views in an art therapeutic process, such as the experimental model proposed in this article, are effective methods that can cause surprising results. The types of creative means are the most diverse and new ones are constantly added to them. Different techniques of painting, sculpture, applied arts are used, music, dance, theater, fairy tales are used. The research methodology presents an author's model of art therapeutic techniques. Creative techniques that can be used to deal with anxiety in children are discussed. The results of the study present the application of several of the creative techniques of the proposed model. The tasks are performed by children at the age of 8. In conclusion, it can be said that the art and the specifics of the creative process represent an opportunity to favorably affect the anxiety and worry in children. A recommendation is made regarding the approbation of the proposed model in practice and its adaptation to the school environment.
