Summary/Abstract: This paper considers the relationship between migration, immigration policies of the European Union, the securitization of migration and their impact on the expansion of private security firms engaged in various migration control tasks. The paper starts from the theory of securitization of the Copenhagen School of Security Studies and analyzes the extent to which the issue of migration in the European Union is securitized. Subsequently, the process of securitization of migration is linked to the private security sector and its role in the control of migration is analyzed. This paper addresses trends and the impact of the migration process on the private security sector. The issue of migration in the European Union is significantly securitized and this process has led to an increase in demand for services provided by the private security sector. On the other hand, there have been serious allegations against the private security firms concerning the violation of the human rights of migrants. This issue is significant regarding the role of private security firms engaged in migration control tasks.
