Summary/Abstract: The article shows in broad strokes Konstantin Iliev’s significance to the music life in Ruse at the turn of the 1950s; his contribution to the founding of the State Symphony Orchestra and Ruse Opera House, as well as his role in including in concert programmes, in Ruse for the first time in this country, pieces of Bulgarian Musica Nova.
