Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the transposition of proper names between Polish and Russian. This issue, with the use of the case study method, is analysed in the translation teaching context. Considering the need for an individual approach to each proper name, the article provides recommendations to prepare classes and courses that will help students practice different translation situations and see the same onym from a variety of perspectives and, consequently, in several different context-dependent target variations. This article refers to various types of specialist (including certified) and literary translation.
