Summary/Abstract: The review presents the volume “Istoria limbilor moderne în ASE. O perspectivă centenară” (The History of Modern Languages in ASE Bucharest. A centennial perspective) edited by professors Mariana Nicolae and Mara Magda Maftei and published by the ASE Publishing House, Bucharest, in 2013. The book contains several chapters, as follows: a chapter dedicated to messages received on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, ASE and the Department of Modern Languages and Business Communication; an extensive study investigating the role of foreign language classes in the professional formation of future economists; a short history of the teaching and learning of foreign languages in ASE Bucharest; a collection of interviews and portraits of outstanding foreign language professors that have taught at this university; an album comprising photographs of significant events in the history of the Department of Modern Languages and Business Communication.
