Summary/Abstract: The Polish publishing market has recently seen at least several novels with striped fabric and barbed wire on the cover, embellished with the mandatory “...from Auschwitz” in the title. Most of these publications belong to the misery literature, or mis lit genre, and more precisely, one of its subgenres that can be called the Holocaust-camp kitsch. The paper is a brief analytical reconnaissance of the phenomenon of the “from Auschwitz” literature and shows its characteristic features and the various aspects of its enormous popularity among Polish readers.
