Summary/Abstract: The economic dimension of the Holocaust in Wartheland has not been fully researched. In the looting of the property of the victims involved were, for instance, members of the personnel of the Kulmhof death center in Chełmno nad Nerem. Retracing various aspects of this issue has been possible owing to documents stored at the State Archive in Łódź. This article presents the operation of SS-Sonderkommando Kulmhof in February and March 1942 in light of the operations on special account 12300, which was opened for the purpose of managing the financial assets looted from the Jews.
