Summary/Abstract: International Socially Engaged Art Symposium (ISEAS) was held in Raseborg, Finland, the first time in 2017. The ISEAS is an annual art gathering where artists are working intensively together through the methods of participatory art. Artists implement different possibilities of intervention with local communities and in public space. Interventions are done within a short time (seven or ten days event), but artists are living in the residence, and work already starts a year before by curating the artists and communities, defining the theme of the symposium, and bringing artists together for preliminary planning. In this article, I will analyze the curating process of the ISEAS 2019. The ISEAS 2019 theme was In Nature and it raised from the awareness of our time as Anthropocene.
