Summary/Abstract: Current norm in Standard Croatian limits the use of the falling accent to the initial syllable. The authors reaffirm the principle of codifying falling accents when these occur in loanwords on non-initial syllables, including the final, provided such stressing is original and competent Croatian speakers do speak like that.
