Summary/Abstract: The following article will investigate the question of how diversity of the everyday-life can be made visible in German as a foreign language (GFL = DaF)lessons. The focus is on GFL lessons, because theoretical statements on diversity in educational contexts and on gender and diversity-appropriate didactics in general mainly relate to (adult) education in the German as a second language (=DaZ) area, and not in the GFL field. In this sense, the question arose which image of the German speaking countries is conveyed abroad and to what extent these images correspond to the actual diversity of everyday-life. Teaching materials that create the most realistic, diverse image possible and at the same time encourage learners to reflect on similarities and differences are therefore of main importance for the following article. Regarding this, the focus lies on the analysis of the textbook Netzwerk A1,which is used at Ovidius University in Constanta for the practical language course in the first year of study. In this context, it is to be analyzed to what extent this textbook makes the everyday diversity in Germany / German-speaking countries visible. In this sense, it is not just about showing relevant content, but also about criticism, suggestions for changes and improvements.
