Two normative word-formation problems and their solutions

Summary/Abstract: The author uses problems of deriving adjectives from nouns indicating plants, and of producing nominal gender pairs, in standard Croatian to illustrate the reaching of normative solutions. The emphasis is laid on systemic formations, though these are not universally acceptable because the system occasionally requires the normative status for formations of rare usage.
