Summary/Abstract: Besides the monastery of Şumuleu Ciuc, the Franciscan Monastery of Călugăreni (Mureș County) was between 1635–1949 one of the most important Franciscan places of worship in Transylvania. After its closing and the deportation of its friars following the nationalisation, the library of the monastery was taken to the Teleki-Bolyai Library of Târgu Mureș. The present study follows the fate of the 32 incunabula that were once part of this collection, and presents the history of some of the more important volumes, connected especially to Transylvanian possessors. Recent research has identified unknown volumes, out of which several are unique in Romania.
