Summary/Abstract: The only evidence of the reign of Chedosbios is its stela, which has been preserved to this day, two fragments of which were found in Kerch in 1913. The image of the cataphract survived, as well as the first words of the inscription with the name and the title of this sovereign placed in three lines. There have been numerous attempts by several generations of researchers to date this monument, who, however, always focused only on the inscription. The letters are characteristic of lapidary texts of the 3rd—4th centuries. At the same time, together they are found only in the texts of the first half of the 3rd century. What is noteworthy, Chedosbios is depicted with a sword, which was widespread in the 1st—2nd centuries. The same period was characterized by multi-tier decorations of stelae. We conclude that the stela was erected in the first half of the 3rd century, and that Chedosbios was the co-regent of a sovereign from the main line of Tiberius Julius. Most likely he was elevated during the first reign of Rhescuporis IV.
