Summary/Abstract: After World War II, evangelical Churches faced a new enemy, a Commu-nist government, which fought against any kind of religion for ideological reasons. As a result of foreign contacts of activists and other reports, public security bodies began to suspect evangelical Christians of conducting espi-onage activities for the USA. After the Bulgarian process in February 1949, the Department V MBP decided to liquidate the hostile “sects”. For that rea-son, a sectarian liquidation plan was prepared, but it was not implemented at that time, due to the lack of support from higher political authorities.
