Summary/Abstract: This article presents the results of an undertaking to restore the historical and original appearance of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity at the former Bakhrushin city orphanage in Sokolniki. Based on the materials studied on the subject from the archives of the Russian State Historical Archive, the Central Archive of Scientific-Technical documents of Moscow, the Central Historical Archive of Moscow, and literature on the history of Moscow, the article describes the process of the approval of the design of the church in stages, gives a description of the external appearance of the erected church as well as its interior decoration and system of murals. The restored chronology of events related to the construction of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity and its characteristics allows us to identify the his-torical and cultural significance of the church, which is revealed through the prism of the philanthropy and charity work of the famous Russian merchant dynasties of the 19th and 20th centuries, and the undoubted value of the structure itself as a monument of the architecture and artwork of the silver age of Russian culture.
