Summary/Abstract: Based on more than 25 orations presented on the funerals of prominent Transylvanian women like Kata Bethlen, Mária Bethlen, Eszter Ráday, Eszter Teleki, Polixéna Daniel, Polixéna Wesselényi and others, the study tries to underline the womens' roles as wifes, mothers and housekeepers in the 18th century.
