Summary/Abstract: The paper interprets the functioning of the stereotypes and the notions of the Slavic people in the work of the Bulgarian writer Simeon Radev, written between 1903 and 1912. The aim is to display the multiplicity of possible interpretations of the problems which S. Radev tended to exploit in different moments throughout his early period, and to propose the possibility of reading the Slavic discourse as a metadiscursive bind, related to the impermanence and inconceivability of discursive categories.
